Seniors
MBSCC was the pre-eminent service provider to seniors in the Bronx throughout the 1970s, and was the driving force in building community coalitions and collaborations to identify needs, gaps in service and innovative programs and services. In the 70s, MBSCC helped to create seven senior centers along the Concourse Corridor through the Mid-Bronx Interagency Coordinating Council, many targeting seniors with low incomes. For 40 years, MBSCC has provided an array of services for older New Yorkers including senior housing, transportation, senior center, home delivered meals and home comprehensive in-home services (home health care, personal care, and light housekeeping). Today, we serve over 1,400 low-income seniors, with and without Medicaid, frail and stable.
